Train 'It'

Trains

Travelling to and from Morecambe and Lancaster, or going further a field from Lancaster cross-country or along the mainline, the train is a great way to travel. Trains can be faster than cars over long distances or in congested areas

Even for days out, the rail network reaches many sights and places of interest, plus there are a lot of offers on off-peak leisure travel.

The train is also great for business travel, you can work on your journey and pre book your seats and ticket in advance.

Lancashire County Council is committed to improving rail travel in the county. Find out about our latest initiatives. Our 'strategy for rail travel' (PDF 2.81MB) - Lancashire County Council's Local Transport Plan 2001/02 - 2005/06 sets out, amongst other things, our strategy for rail travel within the county. View the Rail section of the Plan below.
