'Dales Railcard'

Arriva Trains Northern offers residents of certain areas discounts on tickets with a special 'Dales railcard'. If you live in the following postcode areas: LA 2 LA5, LA 6 or LA10 you are eligible to apply for a Dales Railcard, which entitles you to 1/3 off the price of most local rail tickets. You can use your Dales Railcard to save money on single, day return and period return tickets between the valid stations, as detailed below:

• From: Settle and all stations to Carlisle, Gargrave, Hellifield, Long Preston, Giggleswick, Clapham,Bentham, and Wennington. Brampton and Wetheral and stations to Carlisle.

• All the stations on the Leeds-Settle-Appleby-Carlisle line.

• All stations on the Leeds to Morecambe lines (including Bradford Forster Square)Wetheral and Brampton on the Carlisle to Newcastle line

• The Dales Railcard is also valid on journeys from Skipton to all stations to Carlisle, Brampton and Morecambe.(It is not valid on any journeys from Skipton travelling south to Leeds and Bradford.)

• The Dales Railcard costs just £10 and is valid for one year from date of purchase.

• Up to two children (age 5-15 inclusive) per Railcard holder can travel for a flat fare of £2.00 each.

Occasionally, special offers are available exclusively for Dales Railcard holders. This may either be special ticket prices for limited periods or discount offers. Check the special website for the Line at Settle Carlisle.

Freedom of the North West

This allows travel to Carlisle from Barrow, Dumfries, Lockerbie and Hexham. It also covers the area bounded by the Settle-Carlisle, Barrow, Morecambe, Blackpool, Southport, Shipley to Bradford, Leeds, Halifax, Oldham, Manchester, Liverpool, Warrington Bank Quay to Helsby, Chester, Shotton, West Kirkby and New Brighton. It is available in two forms: Flexi Rover (3 days out of 7) for £41 adults and £20.50 children and 7 Day Rover for £51 adults and £25.50 children. Railcard discounts are available.This ticket must be bought from a staffed station before travelling and is valid after 0900 Monday to Friday and any time at weekends and bank holidays.

Season Tickets

If travelling between 5 & 7 days a week season tickets offer savings compared with standard Day Return tickets. Customers are required to obtain a photocard with their first ticket from any staffed station. Season tickets can be bought for any period between 7 days and one year.
